The youth revolution protests that occurred in Nepal have led to a change in government, with Sushila Karki assuming the role of interim Prime Minister. Prime Minister Modi has extended his congratulations, stating, “India is committed to assisting in the restoration of peace in Nepal and ensuring prosperity and development.” In Nepal, the intense protests led by the ‘Gen Z’ youth have resulted in the downfall of the Communist government headed by K.P. Sharma Oli (73). This has caused political turmoil in the country. In this context, with the support of the youth and the populace, Sushila Karki has taken on the responsibilities of interim Prime Minister. Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal, Sushila Karki, has assumed office as the first female Prime Minister of Nepal, following the support expressed by the ‘Gen Z’ generation, who participated in protests advocating for her appointment. In a post shared on the platform X, Prime Minister Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations, stating, “I convey my sincere wishes to Sushila Karki, who has taken office as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal. India is fully committed to the peace, progress, and prosperity of our brothers and sisters in Nepal.”
