US President Donald Trump has announced plans to create an AI Force and appoint an AI Czar in the near future. He made the announcement in a post on his Truth Social account.Trump said he would not allow the development of artificial intelligence to be stopped or destroyed. He described AI as the next Industrial Revolution and said the technology could potentially contribute up to 25% of the US gross domestic product (GDP).In his post, Trump also criticized Democrats and called several issues, including concerns over AI, the Russia-Ukraine war and global warming, “hoaxes.” He claimed that these issues were harming the United States.
However, Trump has not yet provided details about how the AI Force will be formed or what responsibilities the AI Czar will have. The announcement comes as the US continues to debate the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and its possible risks. Earlier this week, US Attorney General Todd Blanche said the United States must not lose the AI race to China. He also said the US would take action against Chinese individuals and companies accused of stealing technology from American businesses.
