India is set to supply Akash surface-to-air missiles to Brazil. The Akash missile, developed entirely in India, is an advanced air defense system capable of accurately targeting and destroying aerial threats from the ground. It can intercept and neutralize enemy aircraft, helicopters, and drones while they are in the air. Due to its capabilities, several countries have shown interest in acquiring it. India and Brazil had already decided to collaborate on defense matters, including the joint development and production of weapons systems. As part of this cooperation, the Indian government approved the supply of Akash missiles to Brazil the day before yesterday. Brazilian officials, including Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Defense Minister José Múcio Monteiro Filho, visited Delhi. They met with Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss projects and tasks that both countries’ defense sectors should undertake together. According to defense officials, this marks a significant step in India-Brazil defense collaboration, strengthening ties and joint capabilities.
