The US Ambassador in Delhi said there is no more important friend than India

Sergio Gor, who has been named as the new US Ambassador to India, said that there is no country more important to the United States than India. Speaking after his arrival in New Delhi, he said the US–India relationship is built not only on shared interests but also on deep mutual trust. He added that US President Donald Trump is likely to visit India in the coming year or soon after. “Gor highlighted that while trade is important, both countries also work closely in areas such as defense, counter-terrorism, energy, technology, education, and healthcare. He said trade talks between India and the US are ongoing and complex but progressing steadily. Gor also spoke about the strong personal friendship between President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed confidence that both nations will continue to strengthen their partnership despite differences.
