Trump takes the office presidentĀ of the United States last January. Since his inauguration, he has undertaken a series of assertive measures. Notably, he declared that nations imposing high tariffs on American products would face reciprocal tariffs. Consequently, he raised the tariff on imports from China to 145 percent. In retaliation, China escalated the tariff on American products to 125 percent. This escalation resulted in a trade conflict between the two nations. Subsequently, China lowered the tariff on American goods. In turn, the United States reduced the tariff on Chinese imports from 145 percent to 30 percent. Likewise, China decreased the tariff on American products from 125 percent to 10 percent. Meanwhile, the 90-day grace period for the additional tariff was extended by another 90 days (November 10) after the initial grace period concluded on August 10. In this situation, US President Donald Trump announced today that an additional 100 percent tariff will be levied on goods imported from China. He also indicated that this new tariff will take effect on November 1. The current tariff on goods imported from China stands at 30 percent, which will rise to 130 percent starting next month.
