Ayodhya celebrates Diwali with 29 lakh lamps lit along Sarayu River.

Ahead of the Diwali festival, 29 lakh traditional lamps were lit yesterday evening along the 56 ghats of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya. To achieve this, 73,000 liters of oil and 5.5 million cotton wicks were used. Over 33,000 volunteers participated in lighting the lamps. The simultaneous lighting of 29 lakh lamps set a new world record. Additionally, a grand aarti ceremony conducted by 2,128 priests at the same time also created a world record.Special rituals are being held at the Ayodhya Ram Temple to mark Diwali. As part of the celebrations, 22 decorated chariots were paraded yesterday within the temple premises. The chariots showcased scenes from the Ramayana, Kumbh Mela, women’s empowerment themes, and BrahMos missile displays, attracting large crowds. A special drone show featuring 1,100 drones presented spectacular formations of Lord Ram, Hanuman, Ram Setu, and the Ayodhya Temple, which were widely admired by the audience.During the celebrations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed darshan of Swami at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. He then led the ceremonial chariot procession of Lord Ram and Sita, taking the chariot through the temple grounds.
