China has given permission to export rare earth minerals to India, marking an important development for Indian industries. The Chinese government has issued export licenses to several Chinese companies that supply rare earth magnetic minerals to Indian firms.
These licenses have been granted to companies that sell minerals to major Indian manufacturers such as Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Honda Motors. One of the key suppliers included is Jai Ushin, which works closely with the automobile sector. With this approval, the supply of rare earth magnets to India is expected to improve in the coming months.
Rare earth magnetic minerals play a crucial role in modern technology. They are widely used in the manufacturing of vehicles, electric motors, mobile phones, electronic devices, and medical equipment. These minerals are also essential for defence and military hardware, including advanced communication systems and precision instruments.
India depends heavily on imports for rare earth materials, and China is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of these minerals. Any restriction in supply can affect production in key sectors, especially electric vehicles and electronics. Therefore, China’s decision to allow exports is seen as a positive step for India’s manufacturing and industrial growth.
Experts believe that this move will help Indian companies maintain stable production and reduce delays caused by raw material shortages. It may also strengthen trade relations between India and China, while highlighting the global importance of rare earth minerals in the transition to advanced technology and clean energy solutions
