Artificial intelligence (AI) coding platform Cursor has become one of the fastest-growing tools for software developers around the world. The platform helps programmers write, edit, and improve code using advanced AI technology, making software development faster and more efficient.Earlier this year, in April, Elon Musk’s SpaceX partnered with Cursor to use its computing infrastructure for training AI models. The collaboration highlighted Cursor’s growing importance in the AI and technology sector. Now, reports suggest that Elon Musk is set to acquire Cursor’s parent company, Anysphere, in a massive $60 billion deal (around ₹5 lakh crore). If the acquisition is completed, it would become one of the biggest AI-related business deals in recent years. The deal is expected to create huge wealth for the company’s founders and investors. Aman Sanger, a 25-year-old Indian-origin entrepreneur and one of Cursor’s co-founders, is likely to receive around $2.7 billion (approximately ₹22,500 crore) from the transaction. Another co-founder and shareholder, 28-year-old Pakistani entrepreneur Sualeh Asif, is also expected to receive a similar amount.

Aman Sanger was born in New York, United States, to Indian parents. His father, Arvind Sanger, is a former student of IIT Bombay, while his mother, Shilpa Sanger, is a dentist.Aman met fellow technology experts Sualeh Asif, Michael Truell, and Arvid Lunnemark while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Together, they founded Cursor in 2022 with the goal of transforming software development through artificial intelligence.Since its launch, Cursor has gained popularity among developers for its AI-powered coding assistance, helping users generate code, fix errors, and improve productivity. The platform’s rapid growth has attracted global attention and positioned it as a major player in the AI software industry. If the reported acquisition goes ahead, it would mark another significant milestone in Elon Musk’s expanding investments in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
