The Federation of Indian Associations of USA (FIA NY-NJ-CT-NE), a leading nonprofit group representing the Indian community on the US East Coast, has announced its leadership team for 2026. The selection was completed after an internal review led by an independent Election Commission, and the new Executive Team will take charge on January 1, 2026. Sreekanth Akkapalli was unanimously chosen as President, succeeding Saurin Parikh. Vice President Priti Ray Patel and General Secretary Srishti Kaul Narula will continue in their current roles, while Shah Accountants will serve as treasurer as part of a streamlined leadership structure approved by the FIA Board. Sreekanth Akkapalli is an entrepreneur with experience across real estate, technology, media, and community initiatives in both the United States and India. Thanking the FIA leadership for their trust, he said he was honored to take on the role and committed to serving the organization with integrity and dedication. As the first person from his home state to become FIA President, he described the moment as historic and promised to strengthen FIA’s key programs and expand community engagement. Senior members welcomed his appointment, calling it a positive and forward-looking step for the organization, which is run entirely by volunteers and has received major honors, including recognition in the US Congressional Record, the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, and two Guinness World Records.
