India has made its debut in the top 100 rankings of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations has defined the aspects and corresponding sustainable development goals that all countries in the world should focus on. It ranks countries based on the progress made each year. Accordingly, the UN has released the rankings for the global sustainable development goals for the year 2025. In this list of 193 countries, India has secured the 99th position with a score of 67 points for the first time. Finland holds the top position with 87 points, followed by Sweden in second place with 85.7 points, and Denmark in third place with 85.3 points.Germany ranks 4th, France 5th, Austria 6th, Norway 7th, Croatia 8th, Poland 9th, and the Czech Republic 10th. Among the top 20 positions, 19 countries are from Europe. Japan has secured the 19th position with a score of 8.7. According to the data presented, the authors of this report have commented that global progress on the SDGs has stagnated, estimating that only 17% of the 17 goals adopted by UN member states in 2015 will be achieved by 2030.
