Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on July 26 to honor India’s triumph over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War. This day signifies the successful conclusion of Operation Vijay, which resulted in the removal of Pakistani forces from Indian territory in the Kargil region of Ladakh. At first, the Pakistani military denied any participation in the incursion, blaming the conflict on Kashmiri militants. Nevertheless, evidence such as documents retrieved from the deceased, testimonies from captured personnel, and subsequent admissions from Pakistani officials, validated the direct involvement of the Pakistani Army and paramilitary units under the leadership of General Ashraf Rashid.
