PM Modi to Celebrate Diwali with Armed Forces in Goa. Since taking office as Prime Minister in 2014, Narendra Modi has made it a tradition to celebrate Diwali with the armed forces each year. This year, to honor the successful “Operation Sindoor” carried out by Indian forces against the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Modi has reportedly decided to celebrate Diwali with Navy personnel on the beaches of Goa. In the past, he has celebrated Diwali with soldiers in various parts of the country .

  • In 2014, he visited the Siachen Glacier in Ladakh to celebrate with troops stationed there.
  • In 2015, he celebrated Diwali at the Dograi War Memorial in Amritsar, Punjab, paying tribute to soldiers who fought in the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
  • In 2024, he marked the festival with the armed forces at Sir Creek in Gujarat.
