The Supreme Court has questioned why the ban imposed in Delhi on firecrackers should not be extended to the entire country. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court, hearing another petition filed by Arjun Gopal seeking a ban on bursting firecrackers, imposed a ban on the sale and bursting of firecrackers in Delhi in 2024. As the livelihood of lakhs of people who depend on the firecracker industry has been affected, a bench headed by Chief Justice P.R. Kawai heard the petition filed by firecracker manufacturing companies seeking to lift this ban yesterday.
