The central government has imposed a ban on 25 OTT platforms due to obscene, uncivilized content and violations of legal regulations. It has instructed internet service providers to block these websites in such a way that the general public cannot access them. This action has been taken after consultations with various organizations, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Department of Legal Affairs, the FICCI, and the CII, as well as experts in women’s and children’s rights. Furthermore, these have been prohibited for violating various legal regulations. The list of banned sites includes Alt, Ullu, Big Shots App, Desiflicks, Boomex, Navarasa Lite, Gulab App, Gangna App, Pull App, Jalwa App, Wow Entertainment, Look Entertainment, Hitprime, Fenyo, ShowX, Soul Talkies, Atta TV, Hotex VIP, Moodex, and Nyanex VIP among others.
