He stated his readiness to meet with Vladimir Putin in Istanbul on Thursday, following a suggestion from US President Donald Trump to promptly accept an invitation for discussions with Russia. Zelensky emphasized the urgency of establishing a lasting ceasefire to halt the violence, asserting that he would personally await Putin’s arrival in Türkiye, hoping that this time there would be no pretexts from the Russian side.
