An important turning point, a petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking a postponement of the NEET-PG 2024 exam, which is scheduled for August 11, 2024.

The petitioner says that many candidates who will be attending the exam have been assigned cities that are extremely difficult for them to access.

The allocation of test locations was made on July 31, 2024  and the specific centres are expected to be declared on August 8 2024.

While this was done to prevent any illegal activity in the examinations, the petitioner claims that the short notice has made it extremely difficult for students to make travel plans to their specified destinations.

More than two lakh candidates are planned to take the previously mentioned examination.

The examination is scheduled to be held in 185 test cities, resulting in the unavailability of train tickets making it nearly impossible for a large number of students to visit their test centers,” according to the petition.

Apart from postponing the exam, the petitioner requests that the adjustment method for the four sets of question papers be made available to candidates, so eliminating the risk of arbitrariness in the process.

The fact that the tests will be held in two batches and that the standardization of question paper is unknown to the candidates raises concerns.

There is a possibility that one batch of candidates might face a more hard question paper than the other,” says the notice of appeal.
