American Hindus Against Defamation (AHAD), an organization committed to addressing the defamation of Hinduism, has initiated an artificial intelligence project designed to detect and combat Hinduphobia and anti-Hindu sentiments, as stated in a recent press release. This initiative utilizes sophisticated algorithms created by Tattwa.ai, enabling stakeholders in fields such as academia, journalism, and advocacy to more effectively confront hatred directed at Hindus. The project features a range of innovative tools, including the HinduHate Detector, which employs deep learning techniques and over 2,000 proprietary rules to assess published materials for bias against Hindus.Another significant component is a database that profiles academics, journalists, and commentators, offering valuable insights into their contributions to discussions surrounding Hindu issues.
The 360-Degree Political View tool provides a comprehensive overview of political candidates’ stances, funding sources, and public statements from a Hindu perspective. Furthermore, AHAD intends to introduce a social media analyzer to identify trends of Hinduphobia and misinformation across platforms such as X.As reported in the press release, AHAD has already utilized the HinduHate Detector to evaluate reports from “We Are Savera,” which examined the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America and the Hindu American Foundation. The analysis revealed a significant bias in these reports, highlighting linguistic subtleties, sources, and sentiments that indicate a pronounced anti-Hindu bias. “These findings emphasize the necessity of evidence-based tools to counter misinformation,” remarked Ajay Shah, convenor of AHAD and president of VHPA.
