Anoushka Shankar, the famous British–Indian sitar player, recently shared a video saying her sitar was badly damaged during an Air India flight. On Saturday, she posted an update. She said Air India has apologized for the damage. Her fans were also happy to know that the sitar has been repaired just in time for her 2026 Chapters Tour. Anoushka added that the airline has agreed to pay for the repair costs. They also promised to investigate how the damage happened and make changes to their policy. Air India sent her a letter soon after she shared the issue on social media. On Thursday, the airline also released a public statement saying they are concerned about what happened and are working with her to find out the exact cause of the damage.
