More than 377,000 devotees have taken part in the Amarnath Yatra since it started on July 3, 2025. On Monday, another group of pilgrims set off for the Kashmir Valley to pay their respects at the sacred shrine.”A new group of 1,635 pilgrims departed from Jammu in two escorted convoys today. The first convoy, consisting of 17 vehicles carrying 374 Yatris, left at 3:25 A.M. for the Baltal base camp, while the second convoy, made up of 42 vehicles with 1,261 Yatris, departed at 4 A.M. for the Pahalgam base camp,” officials reported.The journey of the Chhari Mubarak – the sacred mace of Lord Shiva – is a key part of the pilgrimage. Traditionally kept in the Shri Amareshwar Temple at the Dashnami Akhara Building in Srinagar, the procession of the Chhari Mubarak highlights important moments of the Yatra.The Chhari Sthapana ceremony was recently held at the temple, led by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). The Chhari Pujan is set for August 9, which coincides with Nag Panchami, at the same site.The final procession of the Chhari Mubarak will commence on August 4, featuring ceremonial stops and traditional pujas at Pampore, Bijbehara, Mattan, and Pahalgam, before concluding at the holy cave shrine.This year’s Yatra will last for 38 days, ending on August 9, which coincides with Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan.
