The planner behind the Pahalgam attack was one of three Pakistani terrorists killed during an encounter in Srinagar as part of Operation Mahadev, according to sources. Suleiman Shah, also known as Musa Fauji, was the mastermind and executor of the attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. They were caught off guard before being eliminated.Musa was also linked to the murder of seven individuals who were working on the Z-Morh tunnel project along the Srinagar-Sonmarg highway last year. The operation was conducted by a combined team of the Army and J&K Police. Approximately 17 grenades, one M4 carbine, and two AK-47 rifles were seized from the terrorists’ hideout. The encounter began in the Dachigam area of Srinagar, close to Mount Mahadev, after the armed forces received intelligence about the presence of three foreign terrorists. The name Mahadev was likely chosen because the operation occurred between the Zabarwan and Mahadev ridges, sources indicated.
