British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is currently undertaking a two-day state visit to India, following an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Upon his arrival at the Mumbai airport, he was welcomed by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Ministers Akhilesh Shinde and Ajit Pawar. This marks the inaugural visit of Keir Starmer to India in his capacity as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He is joined by a delegation of British ministers and business representatives. In a tweet extending his welcome to Keir Starmer, Prime Minister Modi stated, “We welcome Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who is visiting India for the first time with the largest ever business delegation. I look forward to our meeting tomorrow to take forward our shared vision for a stronger and more prosperous future together.” Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to host British Prime Minister Starmer at 10 am tomorrow (October 9) in Mumbai. Subsequently, at 1.40 pm, both Prime Ministers will engage in the CEO Summit at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai. Following this, at 2.45 pm, they will participate in the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Festival, where both will also deliver keynote addresses. India and the UK have established an ambitious initiative known as Vision 2035. The two nations aim to collaborate more closely in critical sectors such as trade, investment, technology, innovation, security, climate change, energy, health, education, and public relations. The two Prime Ministers will assess the current status of this initiative,” as stated by the Indian Prime Minister’s Office.
