The Indian American Muslims of North America (IAMNA) has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, expressing profound sorrow for the innocent lives lost and the injuries inflicted upon many individuals. In a statement dated April 25, IAMNA characterized the attack as an affront to humanity, justice, and peace, and extended its solidarity to the victims and the people of India. The organization firmly rejected terrorism in all its manifestations, asserting that there is no justification for such heinous acts of violence. Following an emergency meeting, IAMNA’s leadership released a joint statement highlighting the critical need to address terrorism with both courage and moral clarity, calling upon the Government of India to take decisive measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible, ensuring that innocent lives are never sacrificed at the altar of extremism. Furthermore, IAMNA condemned any efforts to exploit the tragedy for communal gain, urging media and political commentators to refrain from divisive language and to ensure that the pursuit of justice is driven by truth rather than bias. In light of potential security oversights, IAMNA called on Indian authorities to conduct a comprehensive review and implement necessary measures to avert future tragedies, emphasizing that the safety of every citizen, irrespective of their faith, must be of utmost importance.
