Indian army plan to monitor the borders The Indian military has devised a strategy to oversee the border areas from the sea to the mountains through the use of drones. India shares its borders with Pakistan, China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Bhutan. Additionally, the island nations of Sri Lanka and the Maldives are situated close to India. For a prolonged period, there have been ongoing issues in the border regions with China and Pakistan. A significant war occurred between India and China in 1962 concerning border disputes. In 2017, tensions between the two nations escalated for 73 days in the Doklam area of Sikkim.In May of the year 2020, a significant clash occurred between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. In this context, drones are being utilized for surveillance and the transportation of weapons across border areas. Drones are also being employed for communication purposes and to hunt down terrorists. In light of this situation, there are plans to deploy 5,000 specialized drones for monitoring the border regions. These drones will be connected to the ground via cables. Accordingly, the drones will operate at an altitude of approximately 100 meters. They will carry out surveillance tasks over a distance of about 10 kilometers. In the mountainous regions of Kashmir, Ladakh, and the northeastern states, specialized drones are engaged in surveillance operations. These drones are equipped with ground-based cable connections for flight operations. Similarly, in maritime environments and coastal areas, drones will also be involved in surveillance activities. Specialized drones will conduct monitoring operations in all temperature and environmental conditions. These drones will be integrated with India’s Akashdeep air defense infrastructure.
