A tragic helicopter crash in the United States claimed the life of an Indian-origin pilot just minutes after his wedding ceremony. Dev Pigi, 26, a pilot working for Delta Air Lines and originally from Kerala, India, had been in a relationship with nurse Jesny for nearly 10 years. The couple first met at the New Testament Church and later decided to get married. Their wedding took place at “The Revere” venue in Dawsonville, Georgia, in the presence of around 400 guests. Friends and family members said Dev appeared extremely happy during the celebration. After the wedding reception, the newly married couple boarded a Robinson R66 helicopter to begin their honeymoon trip. Reports suggest that weather conditions were poor at the time. As a trained pilot, Dev reportedly expressed concerns about flying in such conditions and advised against the journey. However, the helicopter pilot decided to proceed, stating that the aircraft could fly at a higher altitude. Just a few minutes after takeoff, the helicopter crashed into a densely wooded area near the wedding venue. The impact completely destroyed the aircraft. Dev Pigi and the helicopter pilot died at the scene. Jesny suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors have confirmed that her condition is stable. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
