A 28-year-old Indian software engineer from Telangana was tragically shot dead in the United States while working a part-time pizza delivery job. The victim, Anshul Gunja, had moved to the US four years ago to pursue higher education after completing his B.Tech degree in Hyderabad.After successfully finishing his studies, Anshul secured a job as a software engineer at a leading company. To earn extra income during weekends, he also worked part-time as a pizza delivery driver.According to reports, Anshul was delivering a pizza order late at night to a secluded location when unidentified attackers ambushed him. The assailants allegedly shot him multiple times in the head before fleeing the scene.
He died on the spot due to his injuries.Family members have claimed that the incident was a planned murder rather than a robbery. Speaking about the tragedy, Anshul’s sister said that the suspects may have placed a fake pizza order to lure him to the location. She pointed out that none of his belongings were stolen, suggesting that the attackers targeted him specifically. The grieving family has demanded a thorough investigation into the case and urged authorities to bring the culprits to justice. The incident has sparked concerns about the safety of international students and professionals living and working in the United States.Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India, New York is coordinating with local police and authorities to complete the necessary formalities.
