External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged with a delegation from the American Jewish Committee on Tuesday, focusing on the India-US bilateral partnership and recent developments in West Asia. He expressed gratitude towards the AJC for their enduring support of the relationship between India and the United States. In a statement shared on X, Jaishankar remarked on the significance of the discussions, highlighting the importance of the AJC’s long-standing commitment to fostering India-US ties. This meeting follows Jaishankar’s recent visit to Qatar and Bahrain from December 6-9, during which he participated in high-level discussions on pressing regional and global matters. At the Doha Forum, he contributed to a panel addressing “Conflict Resolution in a New Era,” where he emphasized the impact of ongoing conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine on regional trade and shipping, advocating for more inclusive diplomatic efforts. Furthermore, he met with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss enhancing bilateral relations.

KiIn Bahrain, Jaishankar co-chaired the 4th Meeting of the India-Bahrain High Joint Commission with Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, where they reviewed various aspects of their bilateral relationship, including trade, investments, and security, while also exploring new areas of cooperation such as space, education, and technology.Additionally, he met with Deputy Prime Minister Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to discuss further strengthening bilateral cooperation.EAM expressed gratitude to the Bahraini leadership for their support of the Indian community residing in Bahrain, according to the statement. As he wrapped up his visit to Bahrain, Jaishankar took part in the 20th edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue, where he articulated India’s views on regional security and stability. His comments underscored India’s commitment to fostering peace and development within the region. Additionally, Jaishankar engaged with the Indian community in Bahrain and visited the historic Shreenathji Temple in Manama, which has stood for 200 years, as noted in the statement.
