Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris may engage in an interview with renowned podcaster Joe Rogan, whose audience predominantly consists of young men, as part of her strategy to strengthen her appeal among male voters, according to sources reported on Monday. Officials from Harris’s campaign have recently met with Rogan’s team during this critical phase of the U.S. presidential race, although a confirmed appearance has yet to be established, as indicated by two informed sources. Rogan, who hosts the most widely listened-to podcast in the country, boasts a highly sought-after and loyal audience that numbers in the tens of millions. This interview would provide Harris with a platform to present her viewpoints to Rogan’s listeners, particularly as she aims to enhance her support among male voters, especially Black men. Various public opinion polls indicate that Republican nominee Donald Trump may have an advantage with young men across different racial groups.
On Monday, the vice president unveiled a new array of policy initiatives aimed at engaging Black male voters, while her campaign intensifies its outreach efforts towards this traditionally Democratic demographic. Additionally, her campaign revealed that she will participate in an interview with Fox News, a network known for its conservative commentary that frequently aligns with Trump. On the same day, Trump expressed his intention to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast prior to the Election Day on November 5. Trump and Rogan have had a contentious relationship in the past; in August, Trump criticized Rogan on the social media platform Truth Social, although he later referred to him as a “good guy.” In 2022, Rogan publicly stated that he does not support Trump and expressed a preference for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a presidential candidate. However, Kennedy has since withdrawn from the race and endorsed Trump. This upcoming appearance could provide a significant boost for both Harris and Trump, as current polls indicate a remarkably close contest between the two candidates, likely hinging on the outcomes in seven pivotal swing states. In March, Spotify reported that “The Joe Rogan Experience” boasted 14.5 million followers, nearly three times the number of followers for the platform’s second most popular show. Additionally, Rogan has amassed over 19 million followers on Instagram and 17 million on YouTube. A survey conducted by YouGov last year revealed that 81 percent of his audience is male, with 56 percent being under the age of 35. This demographic information contributes to the belief that he has a strong connection to a group that polling indicates is more likely to favor Trump over Harris.
