Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), expressed his appreciation for the strong ties between the UAE and India following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. The Crown Prince arrived in India for a two-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi, marking his inaugural official trip to the country in his capacity as Crown Prince. He is accompanied by a delegation that includes several ministers, senior government officials, and prominent business leaders. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi hosted a working lunch for Sheikh Hamdan, who also engaged in discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. EAM Jaishankar remarked, “Delighted to welcome Crown Prince of Dubai and DPM & Minister of Defence of UAE HH Hamdan Mohammed at the start of his first official visit to India.
Value his positive sentiments for our wide-ranging cooperation and vibrant ties.” Following his time in Delhi, the Crown Prince is scheduled to visit Mumbai, where he will participate in a business roundtable with key business figures from both nations. This engagement aims to enhance economic and commercial collaboration between India and the UAE in both traditional and innovative sectors. Historically, Dubai has been a significant hub for India’s commercial, cultural, and interpersonal exchanges with the UAE, with a substantial portion of India’s approximately 4.3 million diaspora residing and working in Dubai. The visit of His Highness the Crown Prince is expected to further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and deepen the multifaceted relationship with Dubai, as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs.
