Indian-origin communities across China, the United Kingdom and Australia have celebrated Navaratri 2026 with devotion, traditional dances, prayers and cultural programmes. 🇨🇳 In China, Indian families and expatriates participated in colourful Garba nights, wearing traditional outfits and dancing to devotional music. 🇬🇧 In the United Kingdom, a special Navaratri celebration was held at the House of Commons on October 12, organised by the International Siddhashram Shakti Centre UK. The event brought together community representatives and public figures and recognised 20 immigration officers for their public service. 🇦🇺 In Australia, Indian Consul Naresh Kumar attended a Navaratri celebration in Perth organised by the MAST Cultural and Language Association. Navaratri is a major Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and symbolises the victory of good over evil. Celebrated over nine nights, it includes prayers, devotional songs, Garba and Dandiya dances. For Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), these celebrations provide opportunities to preserve Indian traditions, introduce younger generations to their cultural heritage and strengthen community connections. These international celebrations highlight the Indian diaspora’s commitment to keeping India’s rich cultural traditions alive while sharing them with people from different backgrounds.
