Russia and India are preparing to sign several new agreements to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as healthcare, trade, and other sectors during President Vladimir Putin’s visit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally welcomed President Putin at Palam Airport on Thursday with a warm handshake and a friendly hug. This is Putin’s first visit to India since the Russia-Ukraine war began. The two leaders then traveled together to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. During this two-day visit, both countries are expected to finalize important deals aimed at boosting their long-standing partnership. Delhi has planned a series of events for the Russian President, including a private dinner, a state banquet, bilateral talks, and an interaction with top business leaders. The visit is expected to showcase strong diplomatic ties and high-level ceremonial arrangements. Prime Minister Modi also shared photos of their meeting on X, calling Putin his “friend” and expressing confidence that the India-Russia relationship—tested over time—will continue to bring significant benefits to both nations.
