US President Donald Trump said he had a very useful meeting with Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected Mayor of New York. The two had been criticizing each other for months, but their dispute has now ended. Mamdani, a 34-year-old Indian-origin Democrat, recently won the New York mayoral election. After the meeting, Trump said: “I had a very productive talk with Mamdani. He can do a great job. We both want the best for the city. I wanted to congratulate him. He ran an incredible race and defeated many strong candidates. We agreed on more things than I expected. ”Mamdani said they spoke about rent, grocery prices, utilities, affordable housing, and the rising cost of living. He added, “I appreciated the conversation with President Trump. The meeting surprised me. I love New York, and as mayor, I think I can do some really good things for the city.”
