Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been released from Lilavati Hospital after being the victim of a stabbing incident at his Bandra home last week. Upon his arrival back home, the actor, known for his role in ‘Hum Tum,’ greeted the gathered media with a smile and a wave as he entered his residence. He appeared to be in good spirits, accompanied by his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and sister-in-law, Karisma Kapoor. In light of the attack, security measures at Saif’s residence have been significantly enhanced, including the installation of additional CCTV cameras. The incident occurred when an intruder, identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, unlawfully entered Saif’s home with the intent to commit theft. During the ensuing confrontation, Saif attempted to intervene and was subsequently stabbed, sustaining injuries to his thoracic spine.
The assailant, hailing from the Jhalokati district in Bangladesh, was apprehended at Hiranandani Estate in Thane while trying to escape back to his village. Following his arrest, Shehzad was taken by the Mumbai Police to various locations to reconstruct the crime scene as part of their investigation. Saif underwent surgery to address his injuries, which included the removal of a 2.5-inch blade. Additionally, Kareena Kapoor Khan has provided her statement to the Bandra Police regarding the incident, which occurred at her residence in the presence of law enforcement officers.
