Following the contentious tour of Australia and the subsequent defeat, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has implemented a set of detailed guidelines for the Indian cricket team, with the objective of enhancing discipline, optimizing logistics, and fostering team cohesion. Under the revised travel policy, players are mandated to travel with the team for all matches and practice sessions, thereby promoting a sense of unity. Arrangements for separate travel with family members are discouraged, and any exceptions must receive prior consent from both the head coach and the chairman of the selection committee. It has been noted that players have previously utilized their own private vehicles for travel. The presence of personal staff, including managers, chefs, or assistants, is restricted during tours unless specifically authorized by the BCCI. Historically, players have traveled with extensive support teams that included personal chefs, security personnel, and nannies. To mitigate logistical issues, the BCCI has established stringent baggage allowances. For long overseas tours exceeding 30 days, players are permitted to bring up to 150 kg across five pieces of luggage, which includes both suitcases and kit bags. For shorter tours, the limit is reduced to 120 kg across four pieces. Support staff are subject to lower allowances, capped at 80 kg for longer tours and 60 kg for shorter ones. Any costs incurred from excess baggage will be the responsibility of the individual, ensuring adherence to these regulations.

The new guidelines also regulate family visits to strike a balance between personal needs and team obligations. Players on overseas tours lasting more than 45 days are allowed to host their partners and children under 18 for one visit per series, limited to a duration of two weeks. The BCCI will cover the costs of shared accommodations during this time, while all other expenses will fall to the player. Coordination of these visits must be done in consultation with the coach, captain, and operations management. Furthermore, players are required to remain with the team until the official conclusion of a tour, even if matches are completed ahead of schedule. This policy is designed to enhance team bonding and ensure consistent dynamics throughout the series.
