Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran has reportedly resigned from his position following management-related differences with Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata. Chandrasekaran became the chairman of Tata Sons in 2017, and his current term was expected to continue until February 2027. However, ongoing differences are said to have led to his sudden decision to step down.The announcement comes ahead of the Tata Sons annual general meeting scheduled for August 18. After completing nearly 40 years of service with the Tata Group, Chandrasekaran said in his statement that he had not asked the company for an extension of his tenure.Chandrasekaran has also held leadership roles in several major Tata Group companies, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tata Motors and Tata Consumer Products. His unexpected resignation has created significant discussion in corporate circles. Following the news, shares of several Tata Group companies, including TCS, reportedly fell by around 3% to 4%, reflecting investor concerns over the leadership change.
