Amid the ongoing tensions, US President Donald Trump has decided to use economic sanctions again as a way to put pressure on Iran and bring the conflict to an end.In a recent interview, Trump said that Iran could create problems, but its economy was in a very weak condition. He claimed that Iran was facing serious financial difficulties and high inflation. Trump also warned that Iran could face additional economic sanctions if it did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
However, Iran has not backed down from its position. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in a social media post that the United States was destroying the remaining opportunities to resolve a crisis that it had created itself.
