Since his arrival at Axiom Space in 2021, he has led significant initiatives, such as facilitating the first-ever government purchases of commercial human spaceflight missions to the International Space Station. His leadership has also seen the launch of the innovative Axiom missions, which have transformed access to low-Earth orbit for both nations and private individuals. Furthermore, Bhatia has fostered groundbreaking partnerships across various industries, including a collaboration with Prada to create NASA-approved next-generation lunar spacesuits for the Artemis III mission, and a project with Nokia to incorporate high-speed cellular technology into these suits. Bhatia’s extensive career spans over twenty years, focusing on technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership, and he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, along with experience in leadership roles for various nonprofits, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Startup Leadership Program.Prior to his tenure at Axiom, Bhatia held a position at Google, where he was responsible for leading strategic storytelling and ecosystem engagement for Google Cloud, contributing to the generation of over $4 billion in sales pipeline. As a serial entrepreneur, he established and managed three investor-backed startups — Explain Everything, Chatwala, and Kaptur — achieving two successful acquisitions. Earlier in his professional journey, he played a pivotal role in advancing modern digital video streaming at ESPN, spearheading the company’s international digital growth across the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Europe.
