The UC San Diego Future Leaders Summer Program offers an exceptional opportunity for high-achieving high school students to acquire college-level academic experience and cultivate global leadership skills. Organized by the Global Leadership Institute at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy, in collaboration with the 21st Century India Center and the 21st Century China Center, this program emphasizes the significant roles of India, China, the United States, and other Indo-Pacific nations in influencing global affairs. Scheduled from July 13 to August 2 on the UC San Diego campus, this intensive residential program will engage students with critical global issues such as the climate crisis, energy innovation, artificial intelligence, and internet governance. Utilizing a game-based learning approach, participants will delve into intricate international challenges while benefiting from the expertise of distinguished UC San Diego faculty and receiving leadership development training. Students will reside on campus, experiencing college life firsthand, and will also partake in educational excursions to San Diego’s cultural and historical sites. The curriculum features a strong emphasis on India-related topics, reflecting the renewed focus of the 21st Century India Center. This program is available to students entering 10th through 12th grade by Fall 2025, with a total cost of $7,075, which includes tuition, housing, meals, and all activities. To enhance accessibility, a limited number of full and partial scholarships are offered. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with a recommended deadline of May 2. Upon successful completion, students will earn 1 pre-collegiate credit and receive an official transcript from UC San Diego.
