Donald Trump has designated Sriram Krishnan as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence within the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In his announcement, Trump remarked that Krishnan will collaborate closely with David Sacks to ensure that the United States maintains its leadership in the field of artificial intelligence, while also playing a pivotal role in shaping and coordinating AI policy across various government sectors. Furthermore, he noted that Krishnan would work alongside the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, highlighting that Krishnan began his professional journey at Microsoft as a founding member of Windows Azure.
Expressing his appreciation for the appointment, Krishnan stated that he is honored to contribute to the nation and to work alongside David Sacks to uphold American leadership in AI, thanking Trump for the opportunity. Prior to this role, Krishnan served as a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where he invested in numerous companies, including notable names such as SpaceX, Figma, and Scale.ai. His extensive background also includes significant positions at Meta, Twitter/X, and Microsoft. Krishnan earned a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from SRM Engineering College, Anna University, and he co-hosts a podcast titled The Aarthi and Sriram Show with his wife, Aarthi Ramamurthy.
