The United States government under President Donald Trump has approved the sale of Hawk missiles worth around Rs.1032 crore to Ukraine to strengthen the country’s air defense system amid the ongoing war with Russia. The Russia-Ukraine conflict has continued for the past four years, with both sides carrying out repeated attacks. Recently, Ukraine has increased strikes on long-range Russian targets using domestically developed drones and missile technology. In response to growing security threats, the US has decided to provide Hawk missile systems to help Ukraine defend its airspace. The Hawk air defense system is designed to intercept aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles at a range of around 40 to 50 kilometers, depending on the type of missile used. It is a US-made defense system widely known for its effectiveness in air protection. Ukraine has already received large amounts of military support and advanced weapons from Western countries to counter Russian attacks. The latest missile deal is expected to further improve Ukraine’s defense capabilities during the ongoing conflict.
