Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov confirmed during a recent media briefing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an invitation for this visit. The specific dates for President Putin’s trip will be determined in early 2025. UShakov emphasized that the leaders have an agreement to convene annually, stating, “This time, it’s our turn.” He expressed a positive outlook regarding Modi’s invitation, indicating that they would work out tentative dates early next year.
The two leaders maintain regular communication, engaging in telephone conversations every few months and meeting in person, especially during international events.Notably, Prime Minister Modi visited Moscow in July for the 22nd Russia-India summit and attended the BRICS summit in Kazan in October. In November, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, during a video interaction with senior Indian editors in Delhi, highlighted the robust bilateral ties between India and Russia, mentioning that Putin’s visit is forthcoming, although he did not provide a specific timeline. Peskov stated, “We are looking forward to the visit. The dates will be mutually worked out soon.”
