The recent actions taken by the United States to deny entry to highly skilled professionals from around the world, China has extended an invitation for such individuals to come to their country. Speaking to reporters regarding this matter, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ku Jikun stated, “In a globalized world, the cross-border exchange of talent is of utmost importance. These individuals play a crucial role in the technological and economic development of the world. China welcomes talented individuals from across the globe. They should make their mark in China, excelling in various fields, for the advancement of humanity and the success of the industry.” China is currently offering 12 types of visas, a new visa category was announced last August. This visa includes various features designed to attract outstanding youth in the fields of science and technology. It is set to come into effect on October 1. Referred to as the ‘K’ visa, it is said to possess a high degree of flexibility, allowing for multiple entries and exits as desired, and enabling easy extensions of its validity period, as stated by Chinese officials. Individuals holding a K visa will be permitted to participate in educational and cultural exchanges, scientific research, technological advancements, entrepreneurship, and business-related events. Notably, there is no requirement for Chinese employers or organizations to issue an invitation. Applicants can independently apply for a K visa by fulfilling the necessary criteria, including their age, education, and work experience, as stated by Chinese officials.
