The death of an Indian student in the United States has caused shock and sadness. Saketh Srinivasayya, a 22-year-old student from Karnataka, was found dead after being reported missing in California. Saketh completed his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in Chennai. He later moved to the United States to pursue higher studies. He was studying for a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He was reported missing on the 10th of this month. Following a complaint, the San Francisco Police began searching for him. During the investigation, his laptop and passport were found in an area known as Park Hills, which raised concerns. Police then searched Anza Lake in the same area. On Saturday, Saketh’s body was recovered from the lake. The Indian Consulate in San Francisco and local police have confirmed the recovery of his body. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of death. The tragic incident has deeply saddened his family, friends, and the Indian student community.
