The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) will return for its 24th edition from April 23 to 26, showcasing a wide range of South Asian films. Known as an important platform for regional cinema in the U.S., the festival highlights new talent and connects filmmakers with global industry experts. This year’s event will open with Mahesh Narayanan’s Malayalam film Patriot, starring Mohanlal and Mammootty, and will close with Anusha Rizvi’s The Great Shamsuddin Family. A total of 27 films, including feature films, documentaries, and short films from multiple countries, will be screened. The festival will also feature special premieres, including Shape of Momo, Lali, and Songs of Forgotten Trees, along with documentaries and short films by emerging filmmakers, many of them women. In addition, IFFLA Industry Days will offer networking opportunities, panel discussions, and a chance to win a $10,000 development grant. Overall, the festival aims to celebrate diverse storytelling while supporting South Asian creators on a global stage.
