Amid the rising war tensions in the Middle East, a new and powerful alliance is beginning to take shape in global politics. Similar to the US-led NATO alliance, several Islamic countries are now working together to form a new group called “Islamic NATO.” Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have already entered into security agreements, and now Turkey and Qatar are also preparing to join the alliance, with reports saying that talks between the countries are in the final stages. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are expected to contribute financial strength to the alliance, while Turkey will provide advanced military technology, especially its strong drone production capabilities. Pakistan, on the other hand, is bringing its nuclear weapons strength and missile technology into the partnership, making it an important member of the alliance.
One of the key rules of this proposed coalition is a collective defense agreement, meaning that if one member country is attacked, it will be treated as an attack on the entire alliance, and all four nations will respond together. Turkey’s participation is seen as especially significant because it already has the second-largest military force within NATO, and its involvement in this new alliance could become a challenge for the United States. Turkey had also supported Pakistan during Operation Sindoor in May 2025, highlighting the growing military cooperation between the two countries. As American influence in the Middle East continues to weaken, these nations are now trying to build their own regional security network for protection and strategic independence. However, former Indian Air Force officer Air Marshal Anil Chopra has expressed concern that the combination of Pakistan’s nuclear power and Turkey’s modern military technology could become an indirect security challenge for India. In response, India has been strengthening its ties with countries such as Greece, Israel, and Cyprus. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the alliance is not aimed against any particular country and is being created only to maintain regional peace and stability.
