India Deploys Naval Protection for Tankers Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Rising Gulf Tensions

The delay in reaching an agreement between Iran and the United States continues to create tension in the Gulf region. American warships have increased their presence near the Hormuz Strait, while Iran has been causing disruptions to cargo ship movements in the area for several months. Due to these issues, the supply of crude oil from Gulf countries has been affected, leading to a rise in fuel prices in the international market. Although the United States has allowed India to continue importing crude oil from Russia for now, experts believe this exemption may not continue for a long time. As a result, India is preparing new strategies to ensure a steady supply of crude oil and cooking gas from Gulf nations.

To protect Indian oil tanker ships passing through the Hormuz Strait, India has intensified its security measures in the region. The number of Indian naval warships deployed there has reportedly been doubled. These warships will provide security and support to Indian tankers while they cross the sensitive sea route. Sources say that the plans have been finalized and Indian tanker ships will begin operating through the Hormuz Strait once the central government gives final approval. If the strategy succeeds, India will be able to continue importing crude oil and LPG gas safely from Gulf countries.
