Musk’s Starlink plans to enhance customer verification using Aadhaar.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Starlink Satellite Communication Private Limited, a global satellite internet provider owned by Elon Musk, enabling the company to utilize Aadhaar authentication for customer verification, as announced by the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Officials indicated that this initiative will facilitate a smooth, secure, and hassle-free customer verification process. As part of this agreement, Starlink will implement Aadhaar e-KYC to onboard new users. Consequently, customers will be able to complete their verification swiftly and without paperwork, while adhering to Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. UIDAI has clarified that the use of Aadhaar authentication will remain voluntary, in accordance with existing regulations.
