The NEET examination for postgraduate medical courses was conducted at 500 centers across the country in two sessions morning and evening.

More than 2 lakh MBBS doctors wrote the exam.

The NEET examination is conducted by the National Board of Medical Science Examinations (NPEMS).

As therefore, the NEET exam for admission to MD, MS, and Masters Diploma degrees for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted yesterday August 11 at 500 centers in 185 cities across the country.

Above 2.3 lakh persons applied across the country, including around 25,000 doctors who finished their MBBS in Tamil Nadu, and more than 95% took part in the examination.

Exams were held in two sessions, morning and evening, as made to avoid violations.

Half of the students took the three-and-a-half-hour exam from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the other half took the exam from 3.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

One hour before the exam, candidates arrived at the exam hall with documentation such as their hall ticket and photo ID.

Candidates were accepted to the center only after undergoing strict checks.

Electronic goods, including cell phones, and food were not permitted to be carried into the examination center.

Candidates in the morning and evening sessions were given totally different question papers.

The computer-based English examination, worth 800 points, included 200 questions.

An topics covered such as biochemistry, anatomy, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and ophthalmology.

One question receives four marks. A negative mark is subtracted for each incorrect answers.

The National Board of Medical Science Examinations plans to publish the NEET results by the end of this month.
