A Boeing 737-800 was originally scheduled to travel from Colorado Springs Airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport but was redirected to Denver International Airport. On March 13, a fire erupted on an American Airlines aircraft located at Terminal C of Denver International Airport. The flight carried a total of 178 individuals, including six crew members, all of whom were safely evacuated without any reported injuries. Videos capturing the incident, which depict significant smoke emanating from the plane, have circulated widely on social media, with one clip showing passengers standing on the wing of the aircraft. American Airlines released a statement indicating that the plane encountered an “engine-related issue.” The airline expressed gratitude towards its crew, the Denver team, and first responders for their prompt and effective actions, prioritizing the safety of everyone involved. In light of recent events, it is worth noting that there have been several aviation incidents in recent weeks, including a tragic collision in late January between a PSA Airlines flight and a US Army helicopter, resulting in the loss of all 67 individuals aboard both aircraft.
