Anmol Bishnoi, the younger sibling of the infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was apprehended in California by the US Immigration Department after authorities discovered that he possessed a forged document. According to The Indian Express, officials from the FBI’s New Delhi office have engaged with Indian security personnel to explore the potential for his deportation or extradition, while it has been reported that Anmol, aged 25, has submitted an application for asylum.Further information regarding the case remains limited. Despite his imprisonment, Lawrence Bishnoi continues to orchestrate a global criminal enterprise, and Anmol is sought in relation to multiple high-profile incidents.
Anmol is implicated in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, the assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique last month, and the shooting that occurred outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai in June 2024. Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice for his capture. Anmol Bishnoi, hailing from Fazilka in Punjab, had previously escaped India using a fraudulent passport and was believed to be residing in Canada. In 2022, both Bishnoi brothers, along with others, faced allegations of conspiring to finance and recruit individuals for “terrorist acts” in Delhi and other parts of India.
