China has successfully launched an experimental satellite aimed at satellite internet technology from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in northwest China. The satellite was carried into space by a Long March-2C carrier rocket, utilizing the Yuanzheng-1S upper stage, and it successfully reached its designated orbit. This satellite is part of a larger series and was developed by Galaxy Space, a commercial satellite company in China. So far, the company has successfully launched a total of 35 satellites into orbit, which includes the first batch of low-Earth orbit broadband communication satellites in China. With the introduction of smartphones equipped with direct satellite communication capabilities and the ongoing construction of the first space-based computing satellite constellation, China is making significant strides in its commercial space sector, positioning it as a strategic new quality productive force. On September 16, 2025, China achieved the successful launch of an experimental satellite for satellite internet technology from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
